There are three classes of up to 11 students each. There is one class of three year olds, one class of young four year olds, and one class will be older four year olds, in Pre-Kindergarten. The classes rotate around the preschool, using the “stations” throughout their class times. The three year olds' class will be in session from 8-11, and another class will arrive for the afternoon session from 12-3. The four year olds' class runs from 8:15-11:15, or 12:15-3:15. The Pre-Kindergarten class is 8:30-11:30, or 12:30-3:30. The classes are staggered so that we don’t have everyone dropping off and picking up and the same time. The kids will be dropped off and picked up in the “Play Station” at the front of the school. For instance, the three year olds will be dropped off by their parents at 8:00. At 8:00, the three's teacher will line up her class, and they will go have their circle time. She will bring her class back at 10:45, to allow the parents to pick up their children. The centers - “Stations” Creation Station Preschool has thirteen different centers – we call them “Stations”. The three classes that are in session will rotate throughout the school’s “Stations”, playing and learning in each area. The “Stations” are Dramatic play, Manipulatives, Art, Math, Science, Music, Transportation, Blocks, Reading, Language, Computers, Snack and the Play Station. The Play Station has a large indoor play structure, and lots of space for indoor games and activities. Lesson plans Teachers follow daily and weekly lesson plans. All class sessions will have circle time as their first activity. During circle time, the teachers discuss what activities are scheduled for the day, the calendar, weather and seasons, birthdays, art projects, letter and number of the week. They also sing songs about the days of the week, months of the year, ABC's, counting, and read stories that go along with our weekly themes. |
